The senior’s kicked off the season with a convincing 39 25 win against a spirted Cashel side in sun drenched Temple Hill. It was an opportunity for the club to introduce some new players to the Temple Hill crowd and three debutants, Ian Leonard, George Coomber, Jack Kelleher all scored on their debut for the club.
Greg Higgins and Matisse Iamarque also added to the try scores on the 1st day back, with the additional points coming from 2 penalties and 4 conversions from the reliable boot of Aidan Moynihan.
Cashel competing in 2A for the coming season came to Temple Hill and gave a spirted display, getting to 4 points off the pace mid-way through the second half, but Cork Con closed out the game with a converted try and a penalty to leave the game at 39 25 at the final while.
After the game, both teams and supporters enjoyed the post-match in the sunshine outside the clubhouse.
In the other semi final Highfield beat UCC to set up a meeting with Cork Con in Woodleigh Part, next Saturday 3rd September at 2.30pm.
