Cork Con FC J1 14 - 11 Cashel
Venue: Templehill
Competition: Munster Seconds League
Match Report:

Cork Constitution won a well-contested Seconds League tie at Templehill on Sunday afternoon. Cashel led 5-3 at the break, and it was only a last minute penalty that gave the home side the spoils.

The experienced Cashel No.10, Brian Silke, scored a fine opening try in the 25th minute with a scintillating break from half way, when he eluded the home defence to touch down wide out. However, the conversion was missed. His opposite number, Jason Higgins, kept Constitution in the game with a penalty just before the break.

Higgins and Silke exchanged penalties in the early stages of the second half to leave the visitors 6-11 to the good. On the hour mark, Constitution drew level when left wing Chris McAuliffe ran on to Andrew Dorgan’s clever grubber kick to the line for a try. The conversion was missed, but Higgins made amends with his last minute kick.
