Match Report:

Cork Constitution won the return Seconds League tie against Dolphin at Temple Hill on Sunday evening, but only after a strong challenge from the visitors.

Eoin O’Donnell, who was always prominent in attack, scored the opening try after 5 minutes, for Cyprian Jouve to convert. Dolphin showed their resolve however, with a try by prop Ruarie O’Reilly after 10 minutes. And Dolphin full back Luke Abbott kicked his side ahead with a penalty on 18 minutes. And in the 27th minute he converted a try by centre Sean McKeown. Cyprian Jouve kept Constitution in contention with a try just before the break, to leave the interval score at 12-15 to the visitors.

Richard Martin got in for Dolphin’s third try in the 43rd minute, but Constitution hit back in the 47th minute with a try from Alan Ross, when he powered over from a 5 metre scrum. Robert Caira added the points.

Abbott kicked a second penalty in the 53rd minute for 19-23 to Dolphin. Ger Sweeney reduced the gap to a point with a try for Constitution in the 67th minute and Alan Ross made the game safe for Constitution with his second try in the 72nd minute.
