Cork Con FC 1st XV 13 - 10 Terenure College
Venue: Lakelands, Dublin.
Competition: All-Ireland League Div.1
Match Report:

Conditions at Lakelands were rather unpleasant, with wind and rain making for a difficult afternoon.
However, Terenure College got a cracking start with a try by Caolan Dooley, converted by Mark O’Neill for 7-0, after 10 minutes play. Misfortune for Constitution after 15 minutes, as they lost wing three-quarter John Wren with an ankle injury, causing them to re-jig their back line.

Terenure, playing with the wind and rain at their backs in the first half, increased the lead with a penalty by Jake Swain, for 10-0 after 25 minutes. However, D.A.Moynihan kicked a penalty for Constitution on the half-hour mark for 10-3, and there was no further scoring before half-time.

Constitution missed two penalty chances in the third quarter as the weather deteriorated. But they were awarded a penalty try in the 72nd minute, as the home side pulled down an attacking maul near the line, and they had a player yellow carded. The automatic conversion left the sides level at 10 points apiece. And Moynihan kicked the winning points from a 76th penalty for the win.

Constitution now lead the League table on 17 points, two points ahead of UCC, who lost at home to Clontarf.

Next Saturday, Constitution play Dublin University at Templehill. The students are bottom of the table, but secured their first win on Saturday, defeating Lansdowne 13-11 at Lansdowne Road.
