Cork Constitution scored an easy victory over Kinsale in a one-sided Munster Junior Cup 2nd Round tie at Kinsale on Sunday afternoon. Constitution scored four first half tries to lead 0-22 by half time; and added four more in the second period, for a clear-cut victory over their Junior League rivals.
Cathal O’Flaherty ran in the first try from the first attack. However, it took another fifteen minutes for Constitution to double the lead, with a try by right wing Billy Crowley for 0-10. Gary Bradley finished off a fine handling attack from half way in the 20th minute; converted by Niall Finn; and James Murphy drove over for the fourth try from a fine line-out take by O’Flaherty, to leave the score 0-22 at half-time
In the second half, Constitution were again quickly off the mark with a try by hooker John McHenry, converted by Finn. And in the 50th minute, Bradley put flanker Murphy in for his second try, converted by Finn for 0-36. On the hour, Gary Bradley nipped in for his second try, and Evan Mintern closed out the scoring with a strong run-in from 20 metres in the 67th minute.
In the 4th Round on 17th February, Constitution will meet Mallow at Templehill, who scored a 19-13 away victory over Muskerry.Referee:
