Cork Constitution won their Seconds League section play-off against Old Crescent at Templehill on Sunday afternoon. The match was played in clement conditions and was a useful preparation for the home sides upcoming Munster Junior Cup Final against Richmond at Irish Independent Park next week. While they will now also play Garryowen, in the Seconds League Final, the following week.
Barry Galvin opened the scoring with a try in the left corner after 8 minutes for 5-0. And Constitution doubled their account five minutes later with a second unconverted try in the opposite corner for 10-0. And just before the interval, Paul Buckley returned a poor touch kick clearance for a try that Finn converted for 17-0.
A block-downed clearance presented Barry Galvin with a run in try from 22 metres in the 48th minute that Finn converted for 24-0. And live-wire scrum-half Gary Bradley scored the fifth try in the 55th minute, which Finn converted for 31-0.
Daniel Coughlan had the next try on 63 minutes, converted by Finn, before the visitors got a consolation by their out-half, which he also converted.
And full back Brendan Monahan had the final points with a try and conversion in the final minute to give Constitution a comprehensive victory.Referee:
