Match Report:

Cork Constitution qualified for the Munster Junior Cup Final with a comfortable semi-final victory over Clonmel at Templehill on Sunday.

 

Constitution dominated the opening half to lead 12-0 at the interval. Brendan Monahan had a try after 10 minutes, as the home side settled to their task. Niall Finn converted for 7-0. Looney missed a penalty chance for Clonmel in the 16th minute, but while Constitution dominated the exchanges, it took a bit of magic by wing three-quarter Barry Galvin to stretch the lead. A kick and chase from 30 metres by the left wing in the 34th minute, brought the score to 12-0, as the try was unconverted.

 

Conor Looney pulled three points cack for the visitors with a penalty in the 48th minute, but Constitution made the game safe with a third try in the 56th minute. From an attack through the middle, Niall Finn took quick ruck ball to score in the left corner, and his conversion made the game safe at 19-3. Though he added a 65th minute penalty for good measure for 22-3.

 

In the other semi-final, Richmond meet Kilfeacle next Sunday, with the final scheduled for Irish Independent Park, Cork, on Sunday 29th April.
