Cork Constitution lost their Munster Seconds League tie with University College Cork, played at the Curraheen Road on Sunday afternoon. They trailed 6-7 at half time, and were unable to get on terms in the second period.
Liam O’Connell gave Constitution the lead from a penalty in the 17th minute. College scored the only try in the 25th minute, when prop forward Peter Duffy got the touchdown from a mauled line-out. Dylan Horgan converted for 7-3 to College. Just on the half time break, Constitution had a penalty converted by Liam O’Connell to leave a point between the sides.
Horgan and O’Connell exchanged penalties in the third quarter, before Horgan closed out the game with a similar effort in the final minute.
Constitution are joint-second in the table on 13 points, from two wins and a draw, after six games, with just one game remaining at home to Kanturk next Sunday.Referee:
