Cork Con FC 1st XV 34 - 8 Sunday’s Well
Venue: Templehill
Competition: Munster Senior Cup 2nd Round
Match Report:

Cork Constitution proved too strong for a gallant Sunday’s Well team at Templehill on Saturday to advance to the quarter final of the Munster Senior Cup.

Played in dry, but blustery conditions, Constitution led from a fourth minute try by Alan Ross, but were held to 12-8 by the interval. In the third quarter they moved to 17-8, but only in the final quarter did they pull away from the challenge of the Musgrave Park outfit.

Shane O’Riordan kicked a penalty in the 27th minute for Sunday’s Well and three minutes later flanker James Mulcahy got in for a try. The conversion was missed, but the Well then led 7-8. However, Constitution struck back almost immediately with an unconverted try by centre Ned Hodson.

Constitution opened the second half strongly with a score from the kick off by James Ryan. Left wing Rob Jermyn ran in a fine try in the 66th minute, and the conversion by Lyons put Constitution out of sight at 24-8.

In the final ten minutes, Constitution had further tries from Chris McAuliffe and James Murphy, to leave the final margin at 34-8.

Constitution will be at home to Bruff, who defeated Midleton 36-15, in the quarter final on 29th November.
