Match Report:

Cork Constitution won their South-Western Conference tie with Garryowen at the Lakelands pitch on Saturday. After a tentative first half, Constitution led 6-3 at half time from two penalties by Cian McGovern to one from Garryowen.

Cian O’Halloran’s try in the 50th minute, converted by McGovern, gave Constitution a 13-3 lead, but Garryowen struck back with a try and conversion for 13-10 after 60 minutes.

Constitution’s match winner was flanker Dean Nolan, who scored two tries in the final quarter. In the 61st minute, he went though the middle to score at the posts, for McGovern to add the points. And in the final minutes he scored from a line out that was mauled to the line. McGovern again added the points to complete the scoring.
