Cork Con FC J2 12 - 7 Kinsale
Venue: Kinsale
Competition: J2 Friendly
Match Report:

Cork Constitution J2 XV won their opening game of the season against Kinsale - a hastily arranged game following the concession of their Dennehy Cup game by Douglas. Kinsale’s ground was in splendid condition, on a beautiful sunny morning that tested the fitness of both squads.

Constitution captain, Kevin Minihan, was first on the score sheet when he finished a break by Cormac Fouhy after 10 minutes. Kevin Minihan then set up the second try on the half hour, when he broke from the base of a scrum on the 22 metre line, and sent Simon Barry in at the posts. Barry converted for 12-0.

Kinsale, coached by former Constitution and Munster player Darragh Hurley, scored a late consolation try to leave the final score 12-7 to the visitors.

Next Sunday, Constitution will play Mallow in the Dennehy Cup quarter final at Temple Hill.
