Some of you may be aware that Cork has been chosen to host the 2020 World Cuo of Mixed Ability Rugby. For those that are unfamiliar with IMART the Mixed Ability Model encourages social inclusion by removing barriers to participation for people who feel unable to join mainstream grassroots rugby clubs due to physical or mental health issues, size, shape, age, disability, prolonged inactivity, or a perception of “not being good enough”. MA participants from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities share experience and learning through interactive and accessible training and resources. This creates sporting environments that are safe, welcoming and non-judgemental for all. MA emphasises regular, frequent and sustainable activities, self-determination, club membership and opportunities for social interaction for all. More info can be found at:
To spread the word SWRFC as host club for IMART 2020 have organised 'AN EVENING WITH JOE SCHMIDT AND GUESTS' to be held in the Everyman Theatre on Monday 6th May at 8pm.
