Cork Constitution travel to Dublin on Saturday for game eleven in the Ulster Bank League.
Constitution won their last outing against Dolphin at Templehill on 19th December, when they scored a 17-6 win to move to third in the UBL table on 27 points.
However, Constitution trail Terenure College, who are second in the table on 33 points. Terenure have won seven of their ten games. They recorded big wins over Young Munster 47-0 at home; and 42-0 against Dolphin on their visit to Cork. Their losses were against Lansdowne, Ballynahinch and UCD – the latter being their last two games.
Over the years in the AIL, Constitution hold the upper hand with nine wins from ten games played since 1996-97. Last season Terenure were promoted from Division 1B having spent four seasons in that division.
The last game between the clubs was the opening league game of the season in October 2008, when Constitution won 43-19 at Templehill. The Constitution team for that game was: D.Hurley; R.Lane, T.Kenneally, E.Ryan, C.Healy; J.Manning, D.Lyons; D.Hurley, L.Gabriel, Tim Ryan; J.Maloney, D.Kelly; B.Cuttriss Capt., E.Leamy, B.Holland.
On Saturday, Daragh Lyons, the sole survivor from that team, will play his 166th AIL game, in his twelfth season for the Club.
Kick-off for the game at Lakelands Park, Terenure is 2.00pm
Meanwhile, the Munster Senior Cup Final against Garryowen remains to be rescheduled, with the likely date in mid-January, after next week’s away game to Ballynahinch.
